Wow, that story about the alarm is pretty strange. I guess that they might be out of town for the holidays and it started going off. Wonder what it is for and it definitely makes sense to try to call some authority who usually checks in on such things.

It reminds me of a time, back in my first term of university, when a guy down the hall in my residence didn't get much of any sleep one weekend since the guy in the next room went away for the weekend and forgot to turn off his alarm, so it rang constantly for 3 days.
